Step 1
Place the microscope on a comfortable workbench platform for the operator, then turn on the reflected light (surface light), place a pattern on the microscope base, such as a coin, rotate the zoom knob of the microscope to the lowest magnification, and find the approximate focal plane (optimal imaging plane) by adjusting the lifting group.
Step 2
Adjust the observation pupil distance of the eyepiece and adjust the diopter on the eyepiece to find the optimal focal plane.
Step 3
Using the above method, gradually increase the magnification of the zoom knob, adjust the lifting group of the microscope appropriately, and gradually find the focal plane with the maximum magnification. During the adjustment process, please use the clear reference points on the coin to compare the clarity of the imaging.
Step 4
Turn the zoom knob to the lowest magnification, as there may be some loss of focus. At this time, please do not adjust the lifting group for focusing, just adjust the refractive index on both eyepieces to adapt to eye observation (refractive index varies from person to person). At this point, the microscope is already in focus, that is, the microscope changes from high magnification to low magnification, and the entire image is at the focal length. For the same sample, we do not need to adjust other components of the microscope anymore. We can easily observe the sample by turning the zoom knob.
