The polarizer is the heart of a polarized microscope. It restricts light waves to vibrate in a single plane. The light become a polarized light after through a polarizer. Normally, A polarized mciroscope has two polarizer. The first one is introduces the polarization, and the second one is determines the orientation of the polarization.

The sample being examined is placed between these two polarizers. Once the sample is anisotropic, it will have different properties in different directions. It will alter the polarization of the light passing through it. The analyzer detects alteration and rotated to determine the extent and nature of the polarization change.
