  • Matters needing attention when using

Whether you often use the microscope or only use it once occasionally, please be sure to operate it correctly and be careful when using it. Careless operation or the wrong operation method will cause damage to the instrument. Please pay enough attention to the following items in use:

Fine-tuning is a delicate and easily damaged component in the mechanical device of a microscope. After it is screwed to the limit, it can't be screwed. At this point, you must not force it. Otherwise, it will be damaged. When focusing, in this case, the fine adjustment should be returned to 3 ~ 5 turns, and the coarse adjustment should be reused, and then the fine adjustment should be used after the first object image is seen. If the fine adjustment can be adjusted to the middle position in advance (generally, the position mark "-=" is engraved on the side of the micro-motion dovetail, and the fine adjustment is in the middle position when the single line on the micro-motion dovetail is opposite to the middle of the two horizontal lines), it is certainly better to make the positive and negative directions have roughly equal adjustment margins.

When observing liquid specimens with high magnification, be sure to add cover glass. Otherwise, not only is the clarity reduced, but also the test solution is easily immersed in the lens of a high magnification lens, which makes the lens suffer from pollution and corrosion.

Every time you use the 100X oil mirror, you must wipe it clean. Aromatic asphalt will thicken and dry up if it is exposed to the air for too long. It is more difficult to wipe it at this time. There are oil stains on the lens, and the clarity will inevitably decrease.

Regular maintenance

Professional Compound Microscope

  • Protection against the tide

If the environment in which your microscope is located is relatively humid, you should pay attention to the following matters: Humidity in the indoor environment is the main factor leading to mildew and fog of optical lenses. If the lens is moldy, it will be difficult to remove, and the lens inside the microscope is more harmful because it is inconvenient to wipe. In addition, mechanical parts will rust easily after being wetted. Therefore, in order to prevent moisture, when you store the microscope, you should not only choose a dry room, but also store it away from the wall, the ground and the wet source. For example, you can put 1 ~ 2 bags of silica gel as desiccant in the microscope box, and often bake the silica gel. If its color turns pink, it should be baked in time and can be used again after baking.

be dust-proof

As a microscope user, you will definitely find that when you use a microscope for a long time, you will always feel that the picture is not as clear as before. Then you don't have to be too anxious. It's not necessarily because the quality of the microscope you bought is too poor, but it's probably because you usually don't pay attention to dust prevention. Because if dust falls on the surface of the optical element, it will not only affect the passage of light, but also generate a large stain after being amplified by the optical system, which will affect the observation. Dust and sand particles fall into mechanical parts, which will increase wear and tear, cause movement obstruction, and do great harm. Therefore, the microscope must always be kept clean, and it can be covered with a dust cover when not in use.

corrosion protection

Microscopes should not be placed with corrosive chemical reagents. Such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, strong alkali, etc.

  • Solar heat protection

This is also a problem that can not be ignored. The main purpose of heat protection is to avoid the opening and falling off of lenses caused by thermal expansion and contraction.

Widefield Medical Fluorescence Microscopy

  • Wiping of mechanical parts

The painted part of the surface can be wiped with a cloth, But you can't use alcohol, ether and other organic solvents to avoid paint removal. If there is rust in the unpainted part, it can be wiped off with a cloth dipped in gasoline. After wiping, put on protective grease again.

Wiping of optical system

Usually, clean the surface of each optical part of the microscope with a clean brush or wipe it with mirror paper. When there are indelible dirt, oil stains or finger prints on the lens, the lens is moldy and foggy, and it needs to be wiped before use after long-term use.

Wiping range Eyepiece and condenser are allowed to be disassembled for wiping. Because of the complex structure of the objective lens, it needs special instruments to correct it when assembling, so it is strictly forbidden to take it apart and wipe it. When removing the eyepiece and condenser, pay attention to the following points:

  1. A, be careful.
  2. B, when disassembly, to mark the relative position of each component (can be marked on the shell), the relative order and the front and back of the lens, in case of mistake when reassembling.
  3. C, the operating environment should be kept clean and dry. When removing the eyepiece, just unscrew the upper and lower lenses from both ends. The field diaphragm in the eyepiece cannot be moved. Otherwise, the boundary of the field of view will be blurred. After the condenser is unscrewed, it is forbidden to further decompose the lens on it. Because the lens on it is oil-immersed, it is well sealed when leaving the factory, and then decomposition will destroy its sealing performance and damage it.

The wiping method first removes the dust on the lens surface with a clean brush or hair dryer. Then use a clean flannel to make a spiral one-way motion from the center of the lens to the edge. After wiping, change the flannel to another place and then wipe it until it is clean. If there are oil stains, dirt or fingerprints on the lens that can't be wiped off, you can use willow branches to wrap absorbent cotton and dip it in a small amount of alcohol and ether mixture (80% alcohol and 20% ether) to wipe it. If there are serious mildew spots or mildew spots that can't be removed, cotton swabs can be dipped in water and then glued with calcium carbonate powder (with a content of more than 99%) for wiping. After wiping, the powder should be removed. Whether the lens is wiped clean can be observed and checked by the reflected light on the lens. It should be noted that the dust must be removed before wiping. Otherwise, the sand in the dust will furrow the mirror. Do not use towels, handkerchiefs, clothes, etc. to wipe the lenses. Alcohol-ether mixture should not be used too much, so as to avoid the liquid entering the bonding part of the lens and degumming the lens. There is a purple-blue transparent film on the lens surface, so don't mistake it for dirt to wipe it off.
